Do Pit Bull Owners Qualify as Terrorists?

pitbull

Yesterday, a 5 year old boy was attacked and killed by a Pit Bull in Chicago. Despite the desperate actions of concerned citizens, they were unable to stop the animal from killing the child in one of the most gruesome ways imaginable.

These attacks continue unabated while insane dog owners scream about discrimination against breeds and labeling. It’s not like we’re talking terrorism here.

Or are we?

According to the FBI, domestic terrorism is defined as activities with the following three characteristics:

  • Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
  • Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping; and
  • Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.

1. Clearly, this requirement is met. See the article referenced above along with countless others.

2. I’ve argued in the past that walking a Pit Bull down the street is the same as pointing a gun at every person you pass. These dogs inspire pure fear in every nearby person, unless that person is a completely brain dead, drug-addled idiot, so intimidation of the population is clearly an aim of the owners.

When you can’t fathom the thought of allowing your child to ride his or her bike down the street because some thug in the neighborhood has a Pit Bull, you’re being terrorized.

3. As long as it happens here, it’s domestic and we can do something to end it.

Take a minute and review the list of attacks over the years. If this many people were killed or maimed by Islamic Terrorists, we’d be making plans to invade a country, but these heinous murders have all been perpetrated right here by Americans, many times by the incredibly ignorant, uncaring parents of the victims. It’s time for politicians and parents to get the ball rolling and ban the ownership of these beasts.

It’s the breed. Pure and simple.  Ban it and terminate it.

I do not think the requirement is met but I like your approach. Two and three fit but number one does not violate federal or state law. It should, but it doesn’t.

  2. Actually, the pit bull owners who threaten, cyber stalk, and deliberately malign the people working for awareness of pit bull danger are domestic terrorists in every sense. They have proven dangerous dogs and actively work to stop protection of attacks by these dogs,

    1. Mary is correct although the OWNERS are the terrorists who insist on inflicting their bred-to-kill dogs on normal neighborhoods, stores, even hospitals (well, at least if the PB goes for your throat there in a hospital you do have medical help at hand.) It is the owners who meet the criteria and the dogs are just their weapons. State legislators should regulate these ‘dogs’/canids in the same way that weapons are regulated.

    2. And yet I cannot stop myself from standing up against this deception because it’s killing and harming so many people. It is such insanity that everybody has to live with the fear of the fact that some people would like to keep animals as deadly as lions.

  3. Mary you are absolutely right. The scene in the photo is not common, but misguided owners of pit bulls as “pets” are causing widespread danger. Both by promoting fallacies about pit bulls, and by harassing people who attempt to alert the public.

  4. You people are high. Every ‘owner” I know has a pet dog, nothing else. Quit making up stuff and using scare tactics and tell the REAL TRUTH, not the one that fits your dog killing agenda. Seriously, get a life.

  5. Absolutely. They are wielding a deadly weapon, and they know this, and like it. If you don’ t die in an attack, you may wish you had, after being profoundly disfigured and or maimed. It’s Long past time that they start being seen as the weapons that they are. They are not pets. Everybody really knows this, deep down. No sound and sane person wants to own a deadly “pet”. The very reason lions are illegal as pets, is because they would be a danger to the public. I see pit bulls as the great lion loophole!

    1. Wondering about the welfare of these bully dogs? There are countless pits languishing on chains or stuffed in filthy crates in cellars, and they’re there because pit mongers/bully people truly do not care and refuse to do anything about it.

Bully people tell us with word and deed, “I only care about me, my ego and my ability to own and monger the dog of my choice. I’m happy so don’t change a thing, because I don’t care!

“I may get all fired up about a particular pit situation here or there, but make no mistake. That’s not because I care about pit welfare, that’s because I love to fight. ”

“I’m like the sociopathic dogs I admire. I receive an adrenalin rush when I fight, even when no good comes from that fight.”

Proof that bully people do not care about dog welfare: their “defense” of bully dogs, saying that they weren’t created to kill humans, they were created to kill dogs.

Proof is their refusal to offer or accept breed specific ways to reduce the breed specific pit bull crisis.

What inborn trait could be worse than unprovoked prolonged dog aggression from a dog large enough to kill all other size dogs, humans, and even horses?
